Rumsfeld’s Role in Breast Cancer? What Every Woman Should Know

Upon learning that Donald Rumsfeld oversaw the controversial FDA approval of aspartame in 1981, as the CEO of a large pharmaceutical corporation for which aspartame accounted over half of its profits, I was stunned (I was born and raised to believe in our system).

I then learned that the breast cancer gene had been patented

Given that recent studies out of Europe link aspartame consumption to breast cancer, brain cancers and leukemia, the Center for Science in the Public Interest is calling on the FDA to reconsider the approved safety of aspartame, citing that aspartame has been banned in the UK and Europe by ASDA, Wal-Mart’s UK supermarket chain.

As a result of this study, developed countries around the world have banned aspartame from children’s food, especially given the risks that it may present to children with autoimmune disorders like food allergies.

At AllergyKids, we are concerned that since leading pediatric allergists have testified to the safety of MSG, glutamate and have been funded by the aspartame industry, that these doctors may not be in a position to respond given the liability for which they might be responsible.

Today 1 out of 8 women has breast cancer and 1 out of 8 families has a child with food allergies.

For our daughters’ sakes, isn’t it time that we addressed the role that diet plays in these conditions?
